Discover Stability with Implant Supported Dentures

Implant-Supported Dentures in Lacey, WA | More Comfort & Stability

What Are Implant Dentures?

Implant dentures (sometimes called overdentures or snap-on dentures) are a hybrid solution between full dentures and full arch fixed implants. The denture is supported or retained by multiple implants, offering far more stability, comfort, and chewing power than traditional dentures.

At Lacey Smiles, we offer implant dentures as a flexible, cost-effective solution. Dr. Hodges' surgical and restorative expertise ensures excellent results. Looking for a more fixed, permanent option? Learn about full arch implants.

Types of Implant Dentures

  • Bar-retained overdentures: A custom bar is attached to implants, and the denture “clips” in place.
  • Locator (or ball) attachments: Each implant has a locator that snaps the denture in and out.
  • Fixed-detachable hybrids: The prosthesis is screwed in and can only be removed by the dentist — more like a fixed full arch.

Treatment Process

Evaluation & Planning

CBCT imaging helps us measure bone, determine implant locations, and choose the best attachment style.

Implant Placement

Typically 2–4 implants per arch are placed in key positions.

Healing / Integration Phase

Implants integrate over several months; in many cases, a temporary denture is modified to fit the implants.

Attachment & Final Prosthesis

Once healed, you’ll receive the final overdenture that snaps, clips, or locks into place.

Benefits of Implant Dentures

  • Superior stability — no slipping or adhesive
  • Improved chewing ability — enjoy more foods
  • Better bone preservation than traditional dentures
  • Easier speech and digestion
  • Can upgrade to fixed alternatives later

  • Current denture wearers wanting more stability
